One of the most common excuses for gaining weight is “I don’t have enough time to work out.” Well I’m going to smash that excuse and give you an easy way to get fit fast. With dynamic duo workouts, or supersets, you’ll pair two non-competing exercises back-to-back. As a result, you’ll burn more calories and get out of the gym faster.
So how do you start a dynamic duo workout?
I suggest pairing an upper-body and lower-body exercise, especially if you’re short on time. To get fit fast, you need to work efficiently and keep that heart rate up without sacrificing form. This is why this type of workout works really well. While a certain body part performs an exercise, the opposite body part will be resting or recovering. This allows you to put maximum effort in to the workout and burn calories the entire time, rather than only focusing on one body part and resting between sets. Because who has time for that?!
Need an example of a dynamic duo workout? Here’s a total-body burner you can do in 20 minutes with just a set of dumbbells and your own body weight. Perform moves 1a and 1b back-to-back for 12 reps, then rest 30 seconds before moving on to moves 2a and 2b for 12 reps each. Continue this pattern for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
1b: Dumbbell Goblet Squat
2a: Dumbbell Plank Row
2b: Dumbbell Reverse Lunge
