Mat Pilates at Edmonds Gym

This class is open to all Pilates experience levels. Challenge the powerhouse with a combination of beginning, intermediate, and advanced movements. Mat work is considered the foundation of the entire Pilates Method.

Joseph Pilates developed his signature exercise method in Germany in the early 20th century. Pilates principles include control, fluid movement and breathing. Other principles are concentration, stability and postural alignment. Our group Pilates Mat classes adhere to the basic principles of Pilates. Sequencing and modifications may vary with instructors.
 
Pilates mat exercises proves to be one of the most effective and challenging ways of developing core strength and stability. A strong core makes you less vulnerable to injury. This will improve your posture, coordination, strength and flexibility.
